Honorable Forgot-to-Mention

I got so caught up in the fact that "Brief Candle" got an honorable mention in The Year's Best Science Fiction that I completely missed the fact that "The Singers of Rhodes" from Panverse One was also listed. Woo hoo!

Gardner Dozois's Year's Best Science Fiction: Twenty-Seventh Annual Edition just came out and "Brief Candle" made the honorable mention list. That may not seem like something to get all excited about, but it is to me. To have even been considered in that group is awesome.

Panverse Publishing Gets Some Press

Dario Ciriello's Panverse Publishing got some great press on GalleyCat and BoingBoing stemming from his Kickstarter campaign to fund an expansion of the press. Now, that's exposure.

"The Long Fall" in September's "Grantville Gazette"

My novelette THE LONG FALL is going to appear in the September edition of the Grantville Gazette. If you haven't heard, The Gazette has added a new section called "Universe Annex" for stories that aren't related to Eric Flint's 1632 universe. It sort of picks up where Jim Baen's Universe left off. It works the same way The Gazette does, all submissions go through the slush forum for comments and critique, then the editors pluck the publishable stories from there.

Nebula Voting Deadline

Today is the voting deadline for voting on the Nebula Awards. Being a proud member of the "I'll join the Procrastinator's Club later" club, I've put my voting off until the last minute. No, I don't know why. I made my picks weeks ago. I just never really got around to--you know--actually voting.

"Inside Job" in Andromeda Spaceways

"Inside Job" got a mention in Rich Horton's year-end wrap-up of (part of) Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine. I say "part of," because they apparently missed sending him a couple of issues. I'd like to think I'd have still gotten a nod even if he'd read the whole year, but who knows? I'll take what I can get.

Issue #42 is still available in print or PDF from Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine.

One Up, One Down - Tangent Online and IRoSF

I should have mentioned earlier Maggie Jamison's review of Panverse One over at the revitalized Tangent Online. It's great to see TO up and about. Hopefully it will thrive. Dave Truesdale tells me he has a bunch of reviewers lined up from around the globe, which should provide a broad array of backgrounds and opinions.

Triangulation: Dark Glass Reviewed

There's a nice review of Triangulation: Dark Glass over at Small Press Reviews. I particularly like the part that calls it a "great anthology". Pete Butler, who edited it, should be proud.
